Well done to Laura Pettingale on her first Six Nations Match

Well done to Laura Pettingale on a cracking match last weekend in her first Six Nations match as the referee. The pressure could be felt throughout the game with the two sides level at 22-22 at the interval. As Italy and Ireland battled it out in the second half, Italy came away with a 29 – 27 win.

This was a real test for Laura on the World Stage to cope with the media attention, cameras, and come under the scrutiny of the commentators. Laura certainly rose to the challenge giving a very good controlled performance allowing the teams to play. Communicating her decisions and signals clear and consistently.

We at Kent Referee Society are extremely proud of Laura and look forward to watching her continued development as she progresses closer to the possibilities of World Cup 2021 in New Zealand.
