Society Annual Awards Dinner 12th May

Our honoured speaker this year is none other than John Taylor. John won his first cap for Wales at the age of 21 and played numerous Tests during the golden era of Welsh rugby.

He also toured with the Lions twice, in 1968 and again in 1971, when he played in all four tests as they beat the All Blacks to record the Lions’ only series victory in New Zealand. He retired from playing in 1978 and began a successful career in broadcasting and journalism. During his playing career he was well known for his rather wild hair and beard, and acquired a nickname of Basil Brush. Being a very popular after dinner speaker, we have no doubt that he will be more entertaining than ‘basil brush’ on the evening.

Once again the committee,  are very pleased to be able to offer members a set 3-course dinner (vegetarian option available) together with the all-important awards at the discounted price of only £20 per person. You will also be able to bring along one guest for the same discounted price. Regular price for all extra attendees will be at the full price of £30.

Please confirm by email if you would like to attend at no later than FRIDAY 31ST MARCH.
